Beyond practical considerations, there?s little to do except look at the various equipment levels, plus individual and package options. Some represent genuine good value: The XE Value Truck package, for example, includes air conditioning, a sound system, chrome trim and a tachometer. The Convenience package adds a tilt steering wheel, power outside rearview mirrors and a host of smaller features. The reason for the emphasis on options is simple: Even the high-level Nissans, such as the SE, need at least a few extras to make them more efficient for work or more comfortable for play. Also, from years of experience, Nissan understands that a good many trucks wind up as all-around transportation. The SE, which has the XE?s Value Package included in its basic specification, benefits most from two option groups - the Power Package (power windows and door locks) and the Sport Package (primarily alloy wheels and a sunroof, plus 31-in x 10-in. tires and a limited-slip differential on 4x4 versions). So equipped, the SE is an excellent choice for all-around use. Somewhere in the Nissan Pickup line is a truck for almost everyone. Without being the fastest, cheapest or flashiest trucks around, the Nissans are, without exception, well-suited to handle whatever chores you may assign to them. And they just may be the best looking, to boot.
